Still Here

Just a quick update to let everyone know that we are still here and have been doing fine. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for our computer.

We committed computercide a few weeks ago, but with the help of a wonderful computer man, our hard drive has been wiped clean of a nasty virus, along with everything else we forgot to save on our external hard drive.

Also, my camera software is gone. I can't find the installation CD that came with our camera, and the canon web site just has updates for the software. I called canon and found out that I have to pay $25 to get another installation CD, and I have been pouting ever since.

If anyone out there has a canon camera (we have a Canon SD1000 digital elph) and the installation CD for zoombrowser, I would be happy to borrow it from you.

I guess I will finally break down and just pay for it. I mean, it's only $25, but it's the principle. I think they should send me another one for free. But that's just me.

Anyway, now that our computer is back up and running, I've been catching up on all of your blogs. Even though I don't always have time to comment, I'm reading.

We had a wonderful time on our mountain vacation. We spent a few days with some friends in Gatlinburg in a huge cabin atop a mountain. It was a blast. And child free! Thanks to Mimi and Hunny for the babysitting!!!! Pictures will be posted if I ever get my camera software reloaded.

It's good to be home with the babe though. We are going to the ear, nose and throat specialist tomorrow since SB has had 3 ear infections since Thanksgiving. I hope she doesn't have to have tubes put in! I know we haven't posted pictures in a while, but I can assure you she is still very cute.

Our next big thing: TEXAS to see MEREDITH!!!!! I can't wait. My sister lives in southwest texas, and we never get to see her. My mom, SB and I are taking a little trip to visit and catch up with Aunt Mere next week. I can't believe it's almost time for us to go! Get ready, Aunt Meredith! We are coming!

Pavlov's Little Puppy

We've recreated Pavlov's conditioning experiment with Sarah Beth. She's learned the sound that M&Ms make when dropped into our candy bowl, and whenever she hears it, she drops what she is doing and runs, mouth first, toward the sound.

Below you can see the video of this experiment, recorded for posterity, to show that dogs are not the only creatures that can be conditioned. It works in kids too. I shot another short video (less than 20 seconds) to show the reaction on her face when she hears the M&Ms. You can see that here:

Listen for the M&Ms at five seconds.

But be sure to watch the video below first.
